Elegant Pin Cushion

I love to have pretty things around me while I am crafting. I don't have anything against the standard "tomato" pin cushion that most people use, but why not have an elegant one to look at while you sew? It's so easy to make, here is how I did it...

Photo frame
Quilters batting
Tombow XTREME adhesive runner

How to put it together:

Use the frame insert to measure your fabric piece that will fit around several layers of batting and adhere to the back of a piece of chip board. I used Dupioni Silk in a berry color.

Stamp image using the Background Basics stamps and Crafter's Ink. I used berry color ink.

Heat set the ink with a medium hot iron

Cut 4 pieces of quilters batting to match the frame insert.

Place the fabric upside down, add the 4 pieces of quilter's batting and a piece of chip board and stretch fabric around the back and adhere to the chip board with Tombow EXTREME adhesive tape runner.

Place the pin cushion inside the frame

Place the back on the frame

Add some cute pins and that's it! So easy and so cute!

Fall Themed Altered Glass Trivet

My family and I are spending Thanksgiving with my best friend and her family, so I thought I would make this little altered glass trivet as a hostess gift.

How I made it:

I picked up a glass trivet in the kitchen section at my local Dollar Store
I purchased and cut this cute saying from the Silhouette Design Store
Out of Glitzy Glitter Vinyl I found online at The Buckle Boutique
I transferred the cut glitter vinyl onto a piece of  6x6.25"cardstock cut to fit the inside of the glass trivet with a small border.
I glued the cardstock to the back of the trivet with Beacon Zip Dry.

I added some small paper flowers to the front to hide the Zip Dry adhesive marks on the paper.

I love how this card turned out with all of the different textures! I used the Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy November Kit to create the card.

The blue acrylic piece at the bottom of the card and brown acrylic piece on the tag were originally clear Scraps ATC card shapes from the kit that I ran through my Sizzix machine and added alcohol ink to create a picket fence type embellishment and also the wood embossed embellishment. I also added alcohol ink to the buttons from the kit for added color.

Teacher's Thank You Gift

My daughter wanted to make a thank you gift to give her teacher before the Thanksgiving break. We decided a cookie wrapped in this matchbook type holder would be cute.

I love how the stacked embellishment came out. It was so easy to make with foam tape, 3 squares cut from the paper included in the kit, a couple stickers from the kit and a corner rounder punch.

I am sure her teacher will like it!

I lined up the cookie on a piece of paper from  the kit and cut a strip long enough to make the cookie cover. I then folded the bottom over about 1 inch and placed a staple in the middle.

I added a little foam adhesive to the back of the cookie and placed it inside the holder.

I added a piece of ribbon for decoration with a couple of the stickers from the kit.
That's it, easy peezy!

I think I will make a matching card to go along with it with my left over scraps from the kit.

Kit Supplies used:
Other supplies:
corner rounder punch
clear bag
foam adhesive tape
I hope this project gave you some fun ideas for easy gifts that you can make with the Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy Kit Club November Kit.
